Verdi's Story

Like any good Italian family, we love our food. But more so, we love the occasion of food....the sharing, the stories, the fun and of course the food itself !  It was this passion and love that fuelled the fire and desire for Verdi's.

Being local to the area for many years, we could not think of a better place to combine our passion and Parma roots to create an authentic Italian restaurant.

Using only the best ingredients imported from Italy, we are able to create regional specialties, rarely found elsewhere in London.

The restaurant is based in a former public house dating from 1719 and has many of the original features including a uniquely high ceiling. Pictures by a local artist adorn the walls helping create an ambience that is inclusive and atmospheric.

Why call it Verdi's ? Firstly Nonno ( or grandfather ) walked from Parma to London via Paris at the beginning of the 1900's. Pictures of his London café proudly hang in the restaurant.

Secondly Mr. Giuseppe Verdi is probably Parma's most famous son and apart from penning a few operas was a renowned 'foodie'. Musical instruments adorn the restaurant reflecting the musical theme.

With the opening of the Cantina Bar in the basement, we are pleased that we can offer the London community another attractive space to come together in a celebration of good, hearty authentic Italian cuisine and wine.

We hope you enjoy,

Ciao !
